There is ONLY one way to learn…

… Anything. Everything.

Trial & Error.

That’s how you learned to crawl, walk, run, ride a bike. Look back. You’ll see.

Trial-and-Error.

There are two kinds of “Trial-and-Error.” Ignorant and informed. They are very different.

Which of the two did you use to learn to “crawl, walk, run, ride a bike?”

You’d never done them before, so it must be… ignorant.

Sarah Robbins: A Defining Moment

from Book One.

Sarah RobbinsEach of The Greatest Networkers recalls one (or more) “defining moment” that became a tipping point in their careers. Here’s Sarah’s…

One of Sarah’s defining moments in this business came was when she was earning about $3,800 just selling products. She was having a very hard time recruiting. There was a gal who had found an online ad for the company and she called Sarah, and talked to her about the opportunity. Her husband was a former member of the New York Stock Exchange. He’d gone online looking for an opportunity for his wife. He called her and said, “This is an amazing business opportunity. You’re doing this.” He said,

“Tell everybody you know, all your friends, and in six months your residual income will be insane.”

The (almost) perfect gift for every MLMer on your list

(almost)…? Yeah.

Perfect, would be a never-ending river of wide-open prospects hungry to learn all about your opportunity, ready to start immediately…. Unstoppable commitment would be perfect…. As would unshakable belief— in the products, company, the profession itself and in you your self… Or perhaps a box full of proven, powerful, persuasive prospecting tools that never failed.

Okay. Those are NOT going to happen. So, how about second-best?

That we can do.

Reasonable prices

It’s time.

There are cost/percentage realities in the creating > producing > publishing and distribution of books & DVDs, especially if they’re “hard goods”— printed books and CD albums.

A $20 paperback book costs in the neighborhood of two bucks to print. Somewhere there will be royalties to pay and the costs of editing, cover design, layout & production. And there’s shipping on that and then again to the customer along with fulfillment fees.

Houses of DollarsWorking backwards, if the maker sells to a re-seller (wholesaler and/or retailer), they’ll get 70 percent of (off) the list price. Every station along the distribution railroad gets a piece of that retail price. And it adds up. We get $4.50 on each book we sell wholesale.

It adds up to less if you sell direct to consumers. That’s the place where you can make some money. On a $20 book you could put a net of $10 to $12 in your pocket for each sale.

Digital changes the game— all the games. Significantly.

Donna Johnson: ‘She wasn’t putting her family first…’

In an extract from Book One, Donna Johnson explains how she handled ‘family/business balance’ when starting.

To suggestions that Donna was not a good mom, because she wasn’t putting her family first, she counters:

“Oozing enthusiasm about achieving, I’m doing this business because my family is the most important thing. My family is number one to me.

I’m going forward for my children. I’m going to press on and reach this position—and more, much more!”

My phone-call with Jordan Adler.

Back on Monday, July 25th, I did a ‘webcast’ with Jordan Adler for his team. Jordan’s #1 in Send Out Cards and one of The Greatest Networkers in the book.

The audio is here for you to listen to. Jordan said the call was “phenomenal.” (He’s the excitable sort.) I say it was a good call.

What Jordan wanted me to speak about was how I selected the people in the book, why I’m writing the book, what was the biggest insight I had, their values, and what were the common qualities these million-dollar income earners shared that made them so successful. That’s what I did.

Randy Gage: What does it really take…?

A ‘pet’ question I’ve asked each of The Greatest Networkers is: What does it really take to become an annual million-dollar income earner in this business.

In an extract from Book One, Randy Gage answers that question:

“Nobody’s going to like the answer,” he says.

“It takes all you got. ALL YOU GOT!”

“This is the hardest business you’ll ever do.”
